Natural Skincare Produkcts

For me it's always more important to heal the source of a problem, rather than continuously fighting symptoms. I also applied this principle while creating my personal "Travel Essentials". Back then, I was so tired of living and especially travelling with a million different products. One product for the eyes, one for the face, one for the day, one for the night, one for the body, one for the feet, one for the hands, a shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, make up remover wipes, facial tonic, lip balm, sun block, peeling and now and then an enriching face mask... -Wow! I mean doesn't this short list make you feel dizzy?!

And despite all my effort and all the money I sank into my skincare routine, I was constantly struggling with dry and itchy skin. Showering without applying a lot of product onto my skin afterwards- unthinkable!

Same for you? Then you are exactly right here!

For those who don't want to read to the end, I can tell you that it's not only possible, it's also cheaper and easier on your skin and the environment!

How Your Skin Benefits From Using Green Planet Products

• your skin maintains its natural protective barrier → it doesn't dry out as much as with commercial products

• your skin regains health and resilience

• it requires less care products → you can invest in quality rather than quantity

• PLUS: 1 product for (almost) all little ailments → you get to travel very light

THE BASIC'S

How commercial products work:

active ingredients in commercial skin care products

NO's

microplastics

-easiest to recognize by "-poly" & "-cone" in the word. But they also have other names.

cheap alcohol (severely dehydrating)

-Propyl Alcohol, Propanol, Isopropanol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethanol

parabens (preservatives)

-most easily recognized by "-parabens" in the word

surfactants (destroy acid mantle)

-Sodium-Lauryl-Sulfate, PEG, Polyethylglycol or "-eth" in the word

artificial colours- and fragrances (allergenic)

How green planet products work:

DO's

✔️ natural cleaning products like all-natural handmade soap or clay like ghassoul. ✔️ 100% natural & pure products with few ingredients.

✔️ healthy shampoo or clay.

✔️ recyclable packaging. ✔️ less is more - maybe your skin is so healthy that it can do without products for a few days.

WHY IS A HEALTHY ACID MANTLE IMPORTANT?

A healthy acid mantle keeps lipids and moisture in and viruses, bacteria, plastic and pollutants out. Alcohol and surfactants remove our natural protective film, the protective acid mantle (our build-in protection from nature, so to speak). As a result, pollutants can get into our body while the skin's own lipids escape.

The result is dry, itchy, irritated skin and allergies. In addition, pollutants from commercial skinare products can get unfiltered into our water systems through our drains. Worst case, it ends up back in our fields, in the ocean and on our plates.

Living With A Minimalistic & Holistic Approach

How does one live with only a few skincare products? Literally lighter, that's for sure! But also much healthier, in my experience. Why don't you take a minute and research every ingredient in your "care" products, just for fun. And then your children's products, unfortunately it's anything but funny. No wonder my skin couldn't cope on its own anymore. It was dependent on the very cleverly placed ingredients of the industry.

So if you're thinking about switching to a 100% natural and minimal beauty routine, but still have thoughts like "hmmmm, if my skin is still dry after using lotion twice a day, what's going to happen with even fewer products?" -Don't panic! I thought exactly the same thing at the time.

Don't take your current skin condition as example, think about what your skin will feel like when it's able to resume its natural functions and is able to regulate itself.

But,

even the best and most natural skincare products can only do so much from the outside. Eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, exercising and living a happy life is the best beauty therapy. I know what you're thinking now: "🙄 booooring!" Fair enough, but it's still the boring truth 🙂.

Why Is My Oil Serum For All Skin Types?

I deliberately avoid product labels such as "for dry skin", "day care", "night care", "pregnancy oil", "make-up remover oil", "form men" etc. Because I don't think that it contributes to the well-being of our skin, but rather the purse of the cosmetics industry.

Nature is the best "chemist" in my opinion and provides us with the optimal (skin) care that works and that has a long-lasting effect, since nature wouldn't benefit if we kept asking for more.

Your Skin Type

If you are still using synthetic skincare products you most likely don't know your skin type yet, as your skin is governed and by the intelligently placed ingredients which stop your skin from doing its natural functions in its own rhythm. As long as you use these types of products, you will be a long way to healthy and glowing skin (and hair for that matter).

Many of the commercial product formulations are designed to give you the illusion of short-term and immediate "relief" ( a so called quick-fix) while severely dyhydrating and damaging your skin in the long term.

Why do people design products like that? You've already guessed it, more skin problems means more money for the industry and the more dependent we are, the longer we'll play this game.
